Summary
One of a set of four Samson candlestick figures representing the seasons, late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Male figure representing Winter, seated, holding a bundle of firewood and covered by a shawl. Pink and gilt wavescroll base, supporting sculpted candle stem entwined with foliage.
Provenance
Gifted to the National Trust by Sir Felix and Lady Elizabeth Brunner, along with Greys Court House and Estate, 1969.
