Summary
Altar cover in dark blue and purple silk damask, lined with purple twill silk. For use during Lent or on Saints' Days. Lining in fair condition, though stained. Dark blue damask woven with design of foliage and animals. Surrounding braid border 20mm wide, secondary border of embroidered ribbon 115mm from edge. Corners each have gold crucifix on red brocade. Fringe banded in navy, purple, gold, pink, grey and cream. Central cross within a crown of thorns, embroidered in gold and blue metallic thread. Has matching pulpit fall (NT18422) and chalice table cover (NT18423).
