Summary
Altar cover in crimson silk damask, lined with crimson silk. For use on the festival of Christ the King, and the festival of All Saints and Martyrs. Lining hand sewn. Top cover over linen. Embroidery at each end 600mm, bands of 15mm braid and silk fringe of 100mm. Decorated with lilies and roses in shades of pink, blue and cream using long and short stitch. Flowers and leaves edged with gold cord. Braid woven in pale gold with embroidered black spots. Satin stitched quatrefoil enclosing a satin stitch design. Central embroidered cross in pale blue, lime green, cream and grey, outlined in gold cord. Circa 1905. Has matching chalice table cover (NT18424) and pulpit fall (NT18425)
