This jug was painted by Emily Grace Barnsley, known as Grace. She was a pottery decorator and the daughter of Sidney Barnsley, the Arts and Crafts architect and designer. Sidney and his brother Ernest lived and worked in Sapperton, Gloucestershire, alongside Ernest Gimson, who designed Stoneywell Cottage.
