Provenance
Set of fire irons and stand, designed by Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) and made by Alfred Bucknell (1878-1955), c.1913. Possibly presented as a wedding gift to Basil (1887-1953) and Alice Muriel Gimson (1889-1970) for their home, Five Oaks, Hampshire and later furnished Stoneywell, Leicestershire. Thence by descent and on loan to the National Trust since 2012.
