Summary
Railway wagon. A 1ft 10 3/4in (578mm) gauge four-wheeled weedkilling wagon from the Penrhyn Quarry railway. The wagon has been re-created at the Penrhyn Castle Railway Museum using some original components. A steel drum painted black is mounted on one end of the wooden platform and is connected by a pipe to the pump which is painted grey and mounted on the other end. The pump is driven by a belt and pulleys from an extension to one end of one of the wheel axles. The wheels have curved spokes and are carried in external axleboxes. The main frame is of wood, and buffing plates and a coupling are fitted at each end.
