Summary
Railway lamp body. The body of a lamp for fitting above the smokebox on one of the Hunslet locomotives used on the Penrhyn Railway between the quarries and the port. The body is of cubic form in steel, painted black, with a removable front secured by brass rods. One side panel with a brass fastner is hinged to allow the burner to be removed. The front has a circular convex glass with copper bezel in a steel frame. Above the body is a rectangular chimney and a steel looped carrying handle. The back of the lamp has a slotted holder to fit over a lug on the locomotive.
