Caption
The lead was used to hit the tin sheets which became stuck together in order to separate them whilst protecting the worker. This is the best example as some of the leather glove can still be seen attached to the lead plate.
Summary
Hand pad. Leather and lead. This is one of several lead hand plates in the collection. These come from sheet opener gloves.
