Summary
Framed Danne's Map of the Country, 21 miles around Bristol, published 1807. Circular map inset into a card frame with three fine borders in gold, red, and grey. Black wooden frame with gilded borders. To the left of the map is written, DONNE'S MAP / of the country Twenty / one miles round the / CITY / of / BRISTOL. To the right of the map is written, Worshipful / THE MAJOR, / the Worshipful the / Recorder and Alserman / The Sheriff and COMMON COUNCIL / of the CITY of BRISTOL / this MAP is / humbly inscribed / by their obediant / servant the author. Below the map is written, Published as the Act directs June 4th 1807 by B Donne Master of the Mathematical Academy in King Square Bristol / Estate surveyed, valued and planned. On the back is a white paper label printed in black and annotated in reb ink reading, LORD WRAXALL / No. R4927 Date 24.10.55 / FROST (and) REED / (STUDIOS) LTD. BRISTOL / CLARE ST / ARTISTIC FRAME MAKERS / FINE ART PUBLISHERS / LONDON / 41, NEW BOND ST. W1 / ESTABLISHED 1808 / PICTURE REPARATION. On the back there are two metal hanging hooks and wire.
