Summary
A woman's petticoat for fancy dress, made from pink and apricot silk satin and silk chiffon. The petticoat has two metal hoops projecting from the hip left and right hand-side, creating panniers which would support the matching fancy dress open robe. The petticoat has had its bodice removed historically and is decorated across the front with ruched bands of apricot and pink silk chiffon with lace trim. The silk is tin-weighted and has deteriorated significantly as a result.
