Summary
An oak and straw armchair, Orkney, first half 20th century, the tall backrest and wings made from woven straw supported between two plain uprights at the sides, the uprights joined by level armrests terminating in scrolled ends, the seat inset with woven rush panel, the armrest and wing supports extending down to meet a side stretcher, the chair with four square-section legs joined by plain stretchers.
