Summary
A mahogany wing-back armchair, British, circa 1880, of George II style, the backrest with shaped toprail flanked by two shaped wings, the out-scrolled armrests with scooped front edges, the seat with serpentine-shaped front supported on two cabriole legs terminating in claw-and-ball feet, with square-section legs to the rear, the chair upholstered in brass close-nailed vermilion moquette.

Accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013.
