Summary
A child's beech metamorphic high chair, British, early 20th century, in high chair form - the backrest with shaped and pierced top rail and shaped cross bar, these united by two upright backsplats and a shaped and pierced central splat, the back joined by armrests on shaped supports, these armrests support an adjustable eating table, the seat fitted with an adjustable foot rest, the seat supports on four long turned and splayed legs joined by various stretchers and joined by a large rectangular tier near the base (this tier forms a table when the high-chair is changed into its table and chair form, the long legs hinged halfway up so that they can fold under and up to form the table section when the chair is in its low position, the legs fitted just above the hinge points with small wheels which come into effect when the chair is adapted into its low position.
