Summary
A Avro Tutor, an assembled and handpainted 'Skybird' model aircraft. Kit number 1A, 1935. Double wings, square tail fins and a notch as a cockpit. Painted metallic silver, the tail hand painted with three vertical stripes in red, cream and blue. Circular paper bullseyes in blue white red, yellowed on the underside of the lower wing. Residue of lost roundels from the top upper wing. Number 6 of a large collection of one hundred and thirty four painted wood and early plastic 'Skybird' aircraft models and others, mostly 1930s to 1940s.
