Summary
Lead sculpture, A Student of the Blewcoats School, English School. A painted lead statue of a student of the Blewcoats School. The boy wears the distinctive three quarter length blue coat, mustard coloured stocking and black shoes with silver buckles. His left foot with slightly advanced and has holds his left hand to his waist, with the right hand gesturing forward (possibly designed to hold a book). The statue is supported on a square limestone plinth, with stepped panelled sides. Note: this statue is similar to the painted mural of the Blewcoats student (1650005), although the figure in the mural holds a book. This statue has been repainted at intervals.
