Summary
Metal paintbox with black peeling paint and dented lid. Divided into three sections with D ring attached to middle. Marked on the right section scratched through paint, LAWLEY / M / and SON. On bottom of box are two D rings attached centrally at right angles to base. Lid is attached to base with long hinge. Inside the lid are three shallow areas for paint mixing. Originally painted white, remnants of old mixed paint. Central base area filled with five rows of small rectangular pots containing watercolour paint. Inner flap of white painted metal with similar long hinge. On reverse is rectangular metal label reading, WINDSOR AND NEWTON / 38 RATHBONE PLACE.
