Summary
19th century German ivory chalice and cover elaborately carved with infant Bacchanals, the stem formed as a putto supporting a cornucopia on an octagonal base. PROVENANCE - Previously Bohn collection, £36, then attributed to Fiammingo.
Provenance
Purchased, the Bohn collection, £36. Then incorrectly attributed to François Duquesnoy, called Il Fiammingo (Brussels 1594 – Leghorn 1643) then purchase from the estate of the late Lord Wraxall with the assistance of the NHMF and donations from members and supporters.
