Summary
Fire surround. A black, reeded bullseye fire surround in Kilkenny marble with, lion heads in top two corners, circular design to the centre and a simple decorative cast iron grate. There are large cracks to the left hand side mantle (repaired in 2015). The case iron grate has round finials either side and three cross bars, all resting on three circular feet.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport City Council (Newport Museum and Galleries). In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
