Summary
Table. A rectangular rosewood work table, with brass hinged, swivel top that unfolds, becoming square and pivots around on a blue felt-lined top. Rests on a semi-circular central support with orange-brown velvet central pad upon a curved plinth with four flattened bun feet with metal castors. Beneath the top of the table is a rectangular draw with two circular knobs and central brass lock. Inside is lined with red paper and split into 11 sections, with a 12th larger section to the back.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
