Summary
Print. A black and white engraving of a three-quarter portrait of Sir Charles Morgan Robinson Morgan, 1st Baron Tredegar (1792 - 1875) by unknown. Wearing a dark tail coat, white trousers, and carrying a riding crop in his right hand, his left hand resting on his hip. A draped curtain is on the left. Mounted in cream, acidic, mount. Within a glazed, black, rectangular wooden frame with gilded detailing to the inner and outer edges. There are losses to the bottom edge and corners.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
