Summary
Jar. A stoneware storage jar, 1919, Horrocks & Son. Cylindrical jar with top tapering to narrow, internally threaded neck, and loop handle to sloping loop of body. Main body of buff glazed earthenware, top and handle light brown and glazed. Chipped on spout and previously used as candle holder with remnants of modern wax.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
