Summary
Jardinière. A large white, glazed, bulbous jardinière with narrowing neck that widens at rim, floral design, c1900, by Sampson Bridgwood & Son. Surface embossed with foliate spirals and lace pattern around the rim. The sides and interior rim are decorated with coloured transfer prints of flowers in pink, green and light brown with remnants of gilding on rim.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
