Silver flask
Summary
A sterling silver, cylindrical flask with hinged lid and removeable tumbler on the base. Made by Williams & Summer of London. Marked as made in the year 1849. A special order and gift from Godfrey Charles Morgan (1831-1913) to his brother Charles Rodney Morgan (1828 – 1854) on his ‘coming of age’. Inscription reads: 'Charles Rodney Morgan from his brother G.C.Morgan Dec. 1849'

Made by Williams and Summer of London, 1849. A special order and gift from Godfrey Charles Morgan (1831-1913) to his brother Charles Rodney Morgan (1828 – 1854) on his ‘coming of age’. Inscription reads: 'Charles Rodney Morgan from his brother G.C.Morgan Dec. 1849'. Possibly sold during the Tredegar country house and specialist sales in London, 1950s. In the USA by 2016, when purchased by a resident of Newport, South Wales. From them, purchased by the Friends of Tredegar, and gifted to the National Trust for Tredegar in 2023.
