Summary
A tribal African sleeveless and unstructured man’s tunic, possibly Kenyan. The undyed cotton fabric is printed in black with geometric bands, including chevrons, zig zags and crenulations. With four bands of silver embroidered trim around the neck leading to an abstract jagged medallion of embroidery beneath the neck.
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Khadambi Asalache upon his death in 2006; acquired fully in November 2010.
