Summary
Bowl, porphyry, made in France, about 1875-1900.
Full description
These urns were made in the 19th-century after a design by François-Joseph Bélanger (1744-1818), and a model by Pierre Gouthière (1732–1813) for original versions now in the Louvre Museum, Paris. The bowl was also made in the second-half of the 19th century when there was a renewed interest, in France, in art made before the French Revolution.
