Summary
Copper shell electrical lightbox/safelight with a heat-dissipating copper chimney on the top, a copper hanging bracket riveted to the top of the rear panel and an electrical power lead terminating externally in a standard 3-pin UK mains plug. A hinged flap on the front panel allows for the insertion and removal of an 8" x 10" plate glass filter. The rear panel of the lightbox shell is stamped with a British Standards Institute Trade Mark symbol. The underside panel has 5 x 22mm airflow holes drilled in it near the rear edge and two small screw/bolt (?) holes near the left and right hand edges. A white plastic push-button on/off switch is mounted on the side panel next to where the mains lead enters the lightbox. The interior surfaces are painted yellow but most of the upper level of the paint has worn away. The mains lead inside was connected to a brass lampholder (missing) that has been replaced by a modern plastic unit. The copper surface is heavily tarnished throughout.
