Summary
A Leica IIIa Camera. The body is metal covered with black leather/leatherette. The top is silver chrome. On the top is 'Leica D.R.P. Ernst Leitz Wetlar' together with the serial number 196952. The focal plane shutter has speeds up to 1/1000 sec. Slower speeds are control by a knob on the front, while the fast speeds are fixed on the top. The screw mounted lens is marked 'Leitz Elmar f=5cm 1:3.5'. The focusing scale is marked in feet and goes down to 3.5. The mount is marked 'Germany'. There is a built in rangefinder. Film access is through the base of the body.
