Summary
A Leitz Enlarging Easel. The base of the unit is wooden with a ceramic inlay of the printing area. In the top left hand corner are two tabs for adjusting the borders and the rest of the ficture is framed by two metal shields. The position of these may be adjusted then locked in position using two spherical knobs. Both these shields are marked with distance scales (in inches) and the horizontal member is printed 'The numbers give the real dimensions of the picture without the border'. Also on this member is a logo 'E.Leitz Wetzlar' and 'Germany'. The complete masking unit hinges to give easy access to the baseplate. The underside is plane but has chrome trim on two sides.
