Summary
Mahogany and brass stereoscopic viewer. It comprises a turned wooden handle which screws into the base of the viewer (this has been removed for storage). The viewer has a wooden rail with a brass rack down the centre to which the slide holder attaches. The slide holder has a pinion gear which is operated by a brass knurled knob on the left side, as in use and the holder is covered with a brass plate to which the two slide holder posts are attached. Each post has two positionsallowing for different width slide mounts. The other end of the rail has a fixed viewing point comprising a mask of thin wood to go over the eyes there are two glass wedges through which the viewer looks and there is a baffle board protuding forward from the mask. The end cap to the baffle board is loose as one of the pins that secures it is missing.
