Summary
Monochrome gelatine silver glass lantern slide entitled "A Cooler". The image depicts a small late-1920s coach manufactured by Dennis, registration no. XY 3470 which is stopped by the roadside at an ice cream cart. There are two men in white coats and caps behind the cart and four men in suits and hats queuing up. The cart is mounted on the back of a tricycle. Written on the cart is "Eldorado Ice Cream. Stop Me. Delicious Ice cream". There are a number of people in the coach which has a sign "Croydon" above the windscreen and a logo on the side. Two sheets of glass, 83 mm x 83 mm, one of which carries the image and the other is a cover glass, bound together with black paper tape. Behind the cover glass there is a black paper mask over the image with square corners. Above the image, also behind the glass, is a white label upon which has been handwritten in black ink: "A Cooler". There is a white circle in each of the top corners. Handwritten in white ink on a black paper label affixed at the bottom edge is 'A E Boniface, Class I'.
