Summary
An Ensign E29 box camera. The whole is a card construction with simulated blue leather body work.129 roll film box camera. The front of the camera has three circular openings, two for the viewfinders and one for the lens. Around the lens is embossed “Ensign E29” The top of the camera has to the left the portrait format viewfinder eyepiece. There are two metal bosses fitted to the top of the camera to which a leather strap is fixed The right side of the camera has the landscape format viewfinder eyepiece and below is the shutter release and the slide control for long exposures. To the back, at the top is the film advance knob and below the clip to open the film compartment. The left side of the camera is unremarkable. The back of the camera has a red glass porthole to see the frame number. The whole back panel hinges to the left to reveal the film compartment. Inside the back panel is a red label which reads “All standard makes of film fit this camera but for the best results always ask for ENSIGN FILM No.29 Made in Great Britain Other House, High Holburn. London”. The bottom of the camera is also unremarkable.
