Summary
An Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SLR Camera. The metal/alloy body is covered with black leatherette. The focal plane shutter has speeds 1-1/1000 sec as well as B . There is a self timer and two modes of synchronisation X and FP. The top of the body is silver and bears the serial number 1271549 and 'SP' on the top. The front has 'Spotmatic'. On the rear is 'Asahi Opt. Co. Japan'. On the front of the pentaprism is the AOC logo and 'Asahi Pentax'. The screw mounted lens is f1.8 and is marked ' Super-Takumar 1:1.8/55 Asahi Opt. Co, Lens made in Japan 1849817'. This was one of the first cameras with TTL metering. On each side of the body are metal lugs for a neckstrap. On the base is '23102'. A filter is fitted to the lens which has around the rim 'Vivitar 49mm Skylight (1A) Japan'
