Summary
Agfa Optima camera. The whole is a light alloy bodied 35mm camera with leather/leatherette covers to the back and side fronts The front of the camera has an alloy top area containing the meter cell and the view finder. The rectangular standard contains the diamond shaped Agfa trademark and bottom right (as in use) thereis a dial which switches from automatic to flash. In the flash position it opens the hole containing the flash socket. Down the left side of the standard is a release lever which adjusts the aperture to prevailing light. The lens is central to the camera and is marked “Optima Compur and Agfa Color- Apotar S”. The lens has manual aperture setting and focus ring marked with two heads (close up) a group of three figures (groups) and a landscape (distant views). The back of the camera has a viewfinder top left. Below the alloy top is the film winding lever. The back opens to expose the film compartment and beneath is the film counter dial. The top left of the camera is the rewind knob and the rewind release. In the centre is the flash shoe, then the shutter release, a dial to set film speed and the film speed catch The right side of the camera has a the release mechanism for the film compartment. The left side of the camera has the hinge for the film compartment.. The bottom of the camera has a tripod socket and a reversing button to allow the film to be rewound into the cassette.
