Summary
A brown paper envelope (empty and unsealed) for Ilford Plastika Photographic Paper. Brown paper envelope with blue ink printing including: "Ilford Photographic Paper. Made in England. Ilford Limited, Ilford, London. New Range (see end label), 10 sheets, 4¾ x 6½ ins. 12 x 16.5 cms. A yellow and brown label on the flap is printed with: "Ilford Plastika Cream Grained Half Matt. Normal. Double Weight". Plastika is a warm-black development paper with a speed approximately half that of Bromide paper. The chief characteristic of Plastika is its extraordinarily long scale of gradation from which it derives its ability to reproduce accurately every tone in the negative. Plastika is made in a variety of lovely surfaces and in three gradations: Soft, Normal and Hard.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
