Summary
A cardboard box (empty) for Wellington S.C.P. Gaslight Lantern Plates manufactured by Wellington & Ward Ltd, Elstree, Herts. Brown cardboard box with a white paper label on the lid, printed in black ink with the following: "Wellington S.C.P. Lantern Plates for Gaslight printing and development", and then a list of instructions, followed by the manufacturer's details: "Wellington & Ward Ltd, Elstree, Herts". Stamped in black ink on the top of the label: 3074AC". S.C.P. refers to Slow Contact Plates.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
