Original box of Barnet Lantern Transparency Plates by Elliott & Sons. Box contains 11 of the 12 original plates, size 3¼" x 3¼", wrapped in black paper. Brown lidded cardboard box with black and yellow paper label on lid printed with "Elliott & Sons Ltd. Lantern Transparency Barnet Plate for Warm or Cold Tones. Instructions enclosed. Works, Barnet, Herts". On the base of the box is stamped: "C10007 L H".
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
