Summary
A Butcher Empire No 1 Cine projector. The working sections of the projector are mounted on a heavy iron frame and comprise a set of brass gears and pulley. The unit is hand cranked and a shutter is spurred off the gearing to ensure appropriate synchronization. There are two lenses, one for cine and one for still. Which is in use is controlled by the positioning of the lamphouse which case slide on its rails across the baseboard. The two lenses are both mounted in brass and have rack and pinion focussing. The progression of the 35mm cine film is controlled by sprocket drums. The complete unit is attached to the baseboard via four bolts.
