Summary
Toy magic lantern slide projector. 35mm, russian tin body, hand-cranked maltese cross mechanism, oil illuminant. The top has a chimney for exhaust gases The unit has a simple lens which is focussed by sliding the mount. The 35mm film is transported on external sprockets. Illumination is provided by a removable oil/parafin lamp with a glass tank and fabric wick. This is aided by a concave mirror at the rear of the chamber. There are no markings to identify the manufacturer. It is recorded as russian, but there is some evidence is could be of German manufacture.
