Summary
Lanternist's lamp gas burner. This comprises a flat metal plate bent at one end to stabilise the pipe from the gas tap to the burner. The pipe work is soldered to the plate where the pipe enters and beneath the burner. The tap, pipe and burner are made of brass. The burner has an ornate pierced brass colar to hold a glass chimney. There is a spike of metal soldered to the top of the pipework approx 70 mm from the burner over which a metal shield slides on two soldered brackets.
