Summary
Box for Negafake photographic retouching outfit. Cardboard box comprising base and separate lid which fits over the base. Base has two sections, with cardboard tray dividers to keep the components separate. Red covered exterior with gold print on lid which reads: "A perfect and simple substitute for the knife in retouching. T.S. Bruce and D'Anter's (Patent) "Negafake" negative erasing pencils (Reg). T.S. Bruce, Est. (1886), 4, Villas-on-Heath, Hampstead, London, NW". Identical red paper labels on each end, printed in black ink with a leaf motif and the text: "Negafake" (Registered) 3/6. Patented. Identical green paper labels on each side, printed in dark green ink with a summary of the benefits and features of the Negafake retouching materials.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
