Glass bottle of Transparent Hard Negative Varnish. Reddish coloured residue in the bottom of a square sided glass bottle with glass stopper. Paper labels printed in black ink with the following: "Transparent Hard Negative Varnish", followed by information and instructions for use. Then "Manufactured and sold by Wratten & Wainwright, 38 Gt Queen Street, Long Acre, London, WC", and some information about product sizes and prices.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
