Summary
Wooden box for apothecary's beam and pan scale. Simple wooden construction with glued joints (one side has separated and is loose), and a hinged lid with brass hinges. Single swivel catch to secure lid. Base lined with dark textile. A small wooden compartment in the left corner to contain the weights, approximatley 33mm square. No markings.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
