Summary
Lantern projection microscope. Of brass construction, the microscope consists of a 2 1/2inch diameter tube with a moveable condenser, with a screw thread on the front end to attach it to a magic lantern; behind the tube is the stage to which the microscope slide is attached by two clips; the objective lens is attached to a mounting behind the stage by a rack and pinion focusing mechanism. The lens mount also carries a light baffle and a fine focus thumbwheel. There are no manufacturer's markings.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
