Summary
Box for Busch Vademecum combination lens set. Wooden box, covered in leather (probably black originally but now very worn). Barrel shaped, with brass hinged lid and metal sliding catch. Lid is lined with purple satiny fabric and base is divided into compartments lined with purple velvet. Four brass studs on the underside. Stamped into the leather on the top of the lid: "Busch's Vademecum Satz No II, DRGM No 110275/76".
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
