Summary
Box for Ilford Isochromatic Screen No. 1 filter. Wooden box covered in brown leather, embossed with gold text and border on top and base. Metal hinge and metal clasp. Lid is lined in purple satin-type fabric, and interior of base is lined with purple velvet, with slots cut to hold the filter and clamp. Markings: On top of lid: "Ilford Isochromatic Screen. No. 1. Britannia Works Co., Ltd. Ilford. London, E." On base: "The Screen Frame has been Specially Designed by the Britannia Works Co., Ltd. and is Manufactured solely for them by W. Tylar, 41 High Street, Aston, Birmingham."

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
