Summary
Holmes type wooden and metal stereoscope hand viewer made by H.C. White and Co The viewer is of a wooden construction apart from the aluminium hood and slide rail which contains the two square lenses and decorated with an engraved design which includes the words "Exposition, Universelle, Internationale, 1900, H.C.White and Co" and the metal wire slots on the sliding stereoscope stage. Underneath the stereoscope is a hinge attaching the viewer to the candlestick stand. The hinge is attached to the base of the rail and bears a plate reading " The Fine-Art Photographers Publishing Co 46 Rydale Road, London, SW. There is also embossed into the aluminium rail "USA Patent Oct 15 1895, Canada, France, Germany DRGM No 53803, June 3 1902, Feby 1 1896, BSGDG Great Britain, Austria, Belgium".
