Summary
Holmes type wooden and metal folding stereoscope hand viewer made by A.H. Baird The viewer is a wooden handle above which is a bar enbossed with the word "Patent", attached to two metal bars creating the sliding gallery. The two lenses marked on the mounts "A.H.Baird" and "Edinburgh", are attached to the end of the gallery and open out with a fabric screen between. The slide, which has three plaques, two of which appear to be triangular A.H. Baird logs and the middle large plaque reads " A.H. Baird Maker Edinburgh", is mounted on the gallery on two metal tubes and has the wire and metal fixings to hold the image. The viewer can be disassembled into four parts The hinge is attached to the base of the hood which bears the embossed inscription "Man'f'd by Underwood and Underwood New York. Pattented June 11 1901 foreign Pattent applied for"
