Summary
Holmes type wooden and metal stereoscope hand viewer made by Underwood and Underwood. The viewer is of a wooden construction apart from the aluminium hood containing the two square lenses and decorated with an engraved design including the words "Sun Sculpture U&U Trademark and the metal wire slots on the sliding stereoscope stage. Underneath the stereoscope on a hinge is a folding handle which could also acts at the connection to the separate candlestick stand. The hinge is attached to the base of the hood which bears the embossed inscription "Man'f'd by Underwood and Underwood New York. Pattented June 11 1901 foreign Pattent applied for"
