Summary
Fairchild Aviation Co. K20 Aerial Camera.The body is heavy black metal and it is fitted with a Kodak Anastigmat f4.5 161mm lens which is marked with the serial number EA1932. It is also marked 'Made in USA by Eastman Kodak Co. Rochester NY'. There are three speeds 1/125, 1/250 and 1/500 sec of the focal plane shutter and the camera uses rollfim. On the lens plate is embossed 'C280-509'. On the top of the body is a folding viewfinder with crosswire target. A metal plate on the top reads 'Property of Air Forces, US Army' and below 'Fairchild Aviation Corporation, New York, NY. A barely legible serial number is given -311 -6-8, together with some parts information. Surprisingly, there is also an Air Ministry Label giving store reference '114A/5' and a serial number 'AF42165452'. Film is loaded into a rear chamber inside which there is an enamel label instructing 'Overhaul shutter every 10,000 exposures - see counter. There is a large handle on the right side and the film advance and trigger are to the left.
