Summary
Sands & Hunter studio camera with lens. Mahogany box comprising 3 main parts. These three parts are kept together by a wooden arm that wraps itself around and can be locked into place by a metal pin. When this is released, the back drops down allowing the main body of the camera to slide back using the metal runners. This can be locked in place by tightening the two metal knobs on the top. The ground glass screen panel can be removed by lifting the two brass catches on the top. Red leather bellows extend between the ground glass screen and the lens standard. The front standard is fitted with a shutter moving from left to right, fixed by tightening the screw above. To the right of the lens is a metal plate with a brass centre with an arrow and numbers from 1 - 8 as well as the manufacturer's name, address and patent and number 1032. On the front and top of the body are labels: "Sands & Hunter 20 Cranbourn Street London WC"
